The Bottling Plant Apartments

Frederick, MD

Art Deco Landmark Transformed

A Frederick landmark since 1947, the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant is known for its Art Deco-inspired industrial design. After years of vacancy, GTM|Architects repurposed the building, preserving its iconic facade and transforming it into office space with a ground-floor restaurant. Today, it serves as the gateway to a vibrant mixed-use development, which includes a new 4-story apartment building at the rear of the site.

Set behind the original structure, the new apartment building draws on the industrial character and Art Deco detailing of the historic plant. Its design features loft-style windows, articulated bays and balconies, and entry detailing that echoes the scale and rhythm of the original plant. This creates a cohesive connection between the past and the present.

Resident amenities include a fitness center, club lounge, resort-style pool, outdoor lounges with grilling stations, and a fire pit. The design blends historic character with modern living.
