Chevy Chase Housing + Civic Center

Washington, DC

Community. Connection. Identity.

GTM Architects | DC and Perkins&Will, in collaboration with Banneker Communities, H&H Realty Group, and Blue Skye Construction and Development, DC, is one of eight teams proposing a design for the future Chevy Chase Library, Community Center, and housing. Design proposals are in the process of being reviewed by the District’s Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) as part of their RFP process.

Key features of our design include:
• State-of-the-art public library
• Vibrant community center
• Active Adult Senior Housing
• New parks and open spaces
• Active outdoor recreation such as sports courts, a playground, and amphitheater

We had the chance to present our vision to the community highlighting the unique potential of this civic space to foster community, connection, and identity. We’re honored to be part of this important conversation and grateful for the opportunity to help shape the future of this neighborhood for generations to come.

  • Number of Units: 147
  • Stories: 6 + Penthouse
  • Construction Type: Podium/Stick

Design elements have been inspired by the character of the surrounding neighborhood homes.
