Industrial Site Reimagined

Just one block from the Rhode Island Metro, this project transforms a former industrial site into a unified residential community. To bring architectural variety, the client engaged two firms; GTM designed the new apartment building along with a bridge connecting it to the adjacent renovated warehouse.

The design of the new structure draws from the site’s industrial character with brick, cast stone, metal panels, and expansive glazing. The bridge itself becomes a landmark feature, with a rooftop pool above a second-floor fitness center. Additional amenities include a bike repair shop, dog spa, business center, yoga and fitness studios, multiple lounges, and communal spaces.

Above the podium, landscaped courtyards offer spaces for recreation and relaxation. At street level, loft-style units are accessed via elevated metal bridges that cross a planted bio-retention zone, creating a distinctive entry experience rooted in the site's industrial character.
